Longcase clock
Joseph Anton Weishaubt, Prague, Bohemia, second half of 18th century
Late Baroque cabinet clock, black lacquered wood with carved relief and gilt details. Engraved ornamentation on front brass plate on clock movement; signed in an oval medallion under the centre: “Ios. Ant. Weis Haubt. Pragae.” Pewter chapter ring painted with Roman and Arabic numerals; second subdial in the upper half of the centre disc. Three subsidiary dials with chapter rings above – a date window and month indicator in the centre, day calendar on the left, chime regulator on the right. Verge escapement, pendulum movement with chime on the quarter hour.
